Rosebud Sioux Tribe

ABOUT RESCO

RESCO is leading the way in creating clean, reliable, and tribally owned energy systems that align with our Lakota values and vision for self-sufficiency. Our work focuses on designing and implementing renewable energy projects that reduce dependence on outside utilities, lower costs for families, and strengthen the Rosebud Sioux Tribe’s long-term energy sovereignty.
At RESCO, we believe that true strength begins at home — in our communities. By developing sustainable energy systems, we are helping the Rosebud Sioux Tribe become more self-reliant, prepared, and resilient in the face of changing weather, rising costs, and unstable energy markets.
Our renewable projects — including solar, wind, agri-voltaics, and microgrids — are designed not just to produce clean power, but to protect our people and ensure that no family is left without heat, light, or stability during emergencies or outages.
These systems support:
-
Energy security for Tribal facilities, homes, and essential services
-
Lower long-term energy costs for families and elders
-
Environmental protection for UnĨí Maka (Grandmother Earth)
-
Economic stability through new jobs and local business growth
-
Emergency preparedness, with microgrids capable of powering critical infrastructure when the main grid fails
Through our partnerships with federal agencies, Tribal programs, and educational institutions, RESCO is developing training pathways in:
-
Solar and Wind Energy Installation
-
Battery Storage and Microgrid Operations
-
Energy Efficiency and HVAC Systems
-
Electrical and Controls Programming
-
Clean Vehicle Technology (EV maintenance and charging systems)
-
Energy Auditing and Sustainable Construction Practices
